How do I register for a Shootout tournament?
Shootout tournaments may be found under their index heading in the main poker lobby. Simply select a tournament and go to the Tournament Lobby to register or select the register button from the main poker lobby. Shootout tournaments have a buy-in fee and an entry fee, just as with our other tournaments. There are no late registrations for Shootout tournaments.
How do I know how many rounds will be in a Shootout tournament?
The number of rounds in a Shootout tournament depends on the number of players that enter the tournament. The following table tells you how many rounds there will be based on the number of entrants:

When do I get paid if I am a winner from the round?
The final three players at a table in each round will be paid immediately when the round ends. If you are in Round 4 you will be paid according to the multi-table payout schedule for the number of players in Round 4.
How many chips will I have to start each round?
All players start the tournament with 1,000 chips. At the beginning of every round, each player will have the same number of chips added to their total. Chips are added for each round as follows:

Will I be eligible for Extra Starting Chips?
No. Players will not be eligible for Extra Starting Chips in Shootout tournaments.
Do Shootout tournaments offer rebuys?
There are no rebuys for Shootout tournaments.
Can I register late for a Shootout tournament?
There is no late registration for Shootout tournaments.
What happens if a fourth round is required?
If Round 4 is to be played, it reverts to a standard multi-table format to end the tournament. Payoffs will be made based on the remaining prize pool and the standard PartyPoker.com multi-table Payoff Structure if less than 10 players start Round 4 then the payouts will be 50% to first, 30% to second place and 20% to third place where the percentages are applied to the remaining prize pool).
When does the next round begin?
If you win and advance to the next round, it will begin once all tables have finished the current round. There will be a break of a few minutes before the next round commences.
How is my table assignment determined?
Players are assigned to tables so as to optimize the distribution of the chips and have the table chip totals as close as possible.
How may the tournament end?
The tournament may end in one of the first three rounds if there is only one table in the round. That single table will play out until only one player has chips remaining. If a fourth round is required, then the tournament will end when only one player with chips remains.
What if players have equal numbers of chips at the end of a round?
There are several different situations where this can occur and they are detailed below:
The final round of a 1, 2 or 3 round tournament
If two or more players lose all their chips simultaneously then the players eliminated are ranked highest to lowest by the following:
- Strength of the elimination hands
- Number of chips at the start of the elimination hand (higher is better)
- Player registration timestamp (earlier is better)
An end-of-round chip count tie in a 2, 3 or 4-round
tournament
If two or more players have the same chip count and finish in the top three at
a table in a round then the tied players are ranked highest to lowest by the
following:
Player registration timestamp (earlier is better)
What are the disconnection and cancellation policies for Shootout tournaments?
CANCELLATION - Rounds 1, 2 or 3
- If a tournament is cancelled in rounds 1, 2 or 3 due to technical issues, any player who was eliminated prior to this time will lose his or her buy-in and entry fee.
- Players seated at tables that have completed the round (i.e., three players remaining at the table) will be paid their current round payouts according to their finish at the table (1st place, 2nd place or 3rd place).
- Players at tables with four or more players remaining will equally divide the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place current round payouts for their table.
- 50% of the remaining prize pool will be distributed equally between all players still in the tournament at the time of cancellation and 50% of the remaining prize pool will be distributed on a percentage basis at the time of cancellation based on their chip count.
- All remaining players will be refunded their entry fee.
CANCELLATION - Round 4
Players still in the tournament at time of cancellation will be refunded:
- Prize money equal to the amount that would have been awarded to the next player to be eliminated from the tournament will be awarded to all the players still in the tournament at the time of cancellation
- Of the balance prize pool left awarding as per point 1, 50% of the remaining prize pool will be distributed equally between all players still in the tournament at the time of cancellation and 50% of remaining prize pool will be distributed on a percentage basis at time of cancellation based on their chip count
- Their entry fee. For example, the entry fee of $3 in a $30+$3 tournament.
TABLE CRASH
If a table crashes during rounds 1, 2 or 3 of the tournament then the game play will be paused at all of the tables. There will be an attempt to fix the problem, after which the following may occur:
- Table is brought back up and play continues as normal
- Table cannot be brought back up and the tournament is cancelled according to the policies above.
